| SFADA Launches First Saturday | |
| The San Francisco Art Dealers Association (SFADA) is pleased
to announce the
launch of First Saturday. Beginning January 7, 2012, various
SFADA member
galleries will present special opportunities to learn more
about their featured
artists on the first Saturday of each
month. "First Saturday allows gallery
patrons and art enthusiasts the chance to enjoy intimate and
informative
gatherings as an alternative to the more social First
Thursdays," says SFADA
President, Trish Bransten of Rena Bransten Gallery. Events
will range from
artist talks and tours to opening receptions and book
signings featuring both
emerging and internationally known artists and their work.
First Saturday occurs in addition to First Thursday, the long-standing downtown evening tradition initiated by SFADA in 1993. The broader SFADA membership, including galleries in Oakland and San Francisco's Mission District, will selectively participate in First Saturday. Participating galleries will change monthly.
