Catching Light, features glass installations by
Kana Tanaka, photography by
Thea Schrack, and oil paintings by
Jenn Shifflet. While working in different mediums, these three artists seek to capture the ambiguity and ethereality of light. More than freezing a moment in time, the artworks recreate the feeling of a beam of light caught in a dew drop, or the ever-changing colors of a sunset, shifting the viewers awareness and inviting them to get lost in the moment.
On view at SLATE contemporary through August 26.
SLATE contemporary is open Saturdays from 12–5pm, + by appointment
Come explore the visual language of a beauty that is held within the profound fragility of impermanence.
