“Dreamscapes” Exhibition by Thai artist Yuttana

Jun 7 — Jun 21, 2025

CK Contemporary is proud to present “Dreamscapes,” the first U.S. solo exhibition of works by Thai artist Yuttana Chompupuen, opening June 7 and running through June 21.

“Dreamscapes” features Yuttana’s signature serene compositions—peaceful boats drifting across still waters beneath vibrant gradient skies, meticulously embellished with intricate details of birds, fish, and plant life. Yuttana transforms canvas into portals of tranquility, with each scene inviting viewers into a meditative space where reality and imagination harmoniously converge.

Yuttana’s work exists within the rich context of modern Thai art, blending Western artistic traditions with Thai cultural elements and Buddhist philosophical influences. While some Thai artists have embraced darker palettes and political themes, Yuttana’s luminous landscapes celebrate Thailand’s natural beauty and traditions amid rapid urbanization.

Yuttana Chompupuen was born in the Sisaket province of northeastern Thailand in 1983 and studied at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology in Bangkok and the Ubon Rachathani Vocational College in Ubon Rachathani, Thailand. Yuttana loved drawing from an early age, and in his youth, would often take inspiration from the styles and color palettes of Japanese animation. Currently, his practice seeks to instill serenity through art, focusing on the simplicity of nature and themes of journey and transformation.

Yuttana has exhibited his work in San Francisco and across Asia, participating in shows in Bangkok, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and at art fairs in Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Yuttana currently lives and works in Nonthaburi, a city near Bangkok.
