Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce the twelfth solo exhibition with Patrick Dintino.
“We must become more aware of the forces of persuasion, not just from outside media, but also from our own truths and desires.” — Patrick Dintino
Patrick Dintino examines the influence of technology, artificial intelligence, and mass media in his latest body of work. He considers the impact of targeted messaging in daily life and questions how we can maintain independent thought in an increasingly digital world. This exploration extends into his spectrum paintings, in which concepts such as Charm and Seduction are reduced to a specific range of colors. Each color is applied to canvas with oil paint and seamlessly blended with a brush to create vivid, diffused bands. Similarly, Dintino’s spectrum collages use recognizable objects, such as currency and postcards, where the material’s color becomes the driving force in the composition.
