Sculpture at Meyerovich

Group sculpture show in bronze, steel, and aluminum by Guy Dill, Grisha Bruskin, Donald Sultan

This exhibition exemplifies the various styles and techniques that these Artists employ to create their artistic vision of our world.

Guy Dill (b. 1946) is a renowned American master of contemporary abstract sculpture, whose works are exhibited and collected all over the world. Dill’s latest bronze and aluminum works, featured at Meyerovich Gallery in San Francisco, suggest the fluidity of dancers in motion that harmonize gracefully with the viewer at every angle. Grisha Bruskin (b. 1945) internationally acclaimed contemporary Russian artist, who exhibited in the Collateral Event at the 56^th Venice Biennale and a winner of Russia’s Kandinsky Prize for project of the year in 2012 will feature sculpture at Meyerovich Gallery, San Francisco.  This exhibition will include a group of flat steel sculpture and painted bronze sculpture that represent Bruskin’s own world of images and meanings, united by themes from mythological, Kabbalistic traditions as well themes of consciousness and non-consciousness, romanticism, and Socialist realism. Bruskin is ranking among the most celebrated contemporary Russian artists, since his works achieved sensational results at the 1988 auction of Sotheby’s in Moscow.

Donald Sultan (b. 1951) is one of the leading American contemporary still life artists whose small to medium scale sculpture will be featured at Meyerovich Gallery.  Sultan has a distinguished career as painter, sculptor, and printmaker and his artworks are exhibited extensively.  His body of work is known for his ability to successfully merge the best of yesterday’s artistic tradition with a fresh, modern approach that is unique. Sultan’s still-lifes are studies in contrast, where organic and geometric forms intertwine creating powerfully sensual, fleshy representations of their subjects.
