Andra Norris Gallery is pleased to present SEED, a group exhibition exploring flowers as enduring symbols of transformation, resilience, and renewal. Featuring paintings, watercolors, sculpture, and drawings by distinguished mid-career and established artists, the exhibition brings together a remarkable range of artistic voices united by a shared fascination with the botanical world.

In SEED, flowers become both subjects and metaphors. They move beyond representation to become meditations on beauty, decay, rebirth, fragility, hope, and the continual cycles of nature. Each artist approaches the flower through a unique lens: as a vessel for memory, an expression of transcendence, a study of impermanence, or a celebration of life’s quiet persistence.

At the heart of every flower lies a seed, a small yet extraordinary source of regeneration. It carries within it the promise of renewal and the possibility of transformation. Across diverse materials, techniques, and perspectives, the works in SEEDinvite viewers to reflect on flowers not merely as objects of beauty, but as enduring carriers of emotional, spiritual, and ecological meaning.

“Flowers are symbols of the hope that lies within all nature, of the power to regenerate and be transformed,” says co-curator and exhibiting artist Elizabeth Barlow. “There is this same little seed inside each one of us, because we are all part of the miracle that is life on this earth.”
