Presented in conjunction with the Mill Valley Film Festival, this exhibition celebrates the remarkable career of photographer Lawrence Schiller, whose lens captured some of the most enduring images of American cinema and celebrity culture. At the heart of the exhibition are Schiller’s intimate and revealing portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, and Alfred Hitchcock, among others. His images reveal the tension between myth and reality, performance and personality, and in doing so, they trace the contours of stardom. This exhibition aligns with the spirit of the Mill Valley Film Festival and the opening of Camino by Debbie Loughran where film, artistry, and storytelling converge.
