Opening Reception: November 5, 2026 | 5:30–7:30 PM
Caldwell Snyder Gallery is pleased to present Conversation in Color, a solo exhibition featuring new works by contemporary artist Siddharth Parasnis. Through vibrant color, layered compositions, and expressive architectural forms, Parasnis explores the relationship between the built environment, landscape, and abstraction.
Born in Pune, India, Parasnis has lived and worked in San Francisco since 2001. Drawing inspiration from his travels throughout India, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Honduras, he transforms architectural landscapes and cultural impressions into imaginative compositions. Tilted buildings, geometric shapes, and luminous color fields evoke the energy, movement, and fragility of the environments we inhabit.
Central to Parasnis’s practice is an intuitive approach to painting. Each composition develops through a distinct harmony of colors, often realized in a single session—a process the artist describes as capturing the “soul of the painting.” Influenced by Edward Hopper, Willem de Kooning, and traditional Indian miniature painting, his work balances structural complexity with spontaneity, inviting viewers to discover familiar forms through unexpected perspectives.
Parasnis has exhibited internationally across the United States, Europe, and India, including at the Crocker Art Museum and Bakersfield Art Museum, where his work has appeared alongside celebrated Bay Area artists.
Conversation in Color invites viewers to experience a world where architecture becomes expressive, color takes on a life of its own, and memory and imagination converge.
